Private Health Funds:
Full rebates apply for treatment provided by Southside’s chiropractors and massage therapists from private health funds with extras cover. We have HICAPS facilities so that in the majority of cases patients are able to claim their rebate on the spot, and will only have to pay the gap. The chiropractors at Southside Chiropractic & Massage are part of Bupa’s Members’ First Network, meaning that BUPA members will receive an increased rebate. To find how much rebate you will receive, please check with your insurance company.
Medicare Bulk Billing:
At Southside Chiropractic & Massage, our chiropractors are fully registered with Medicare and we are happy to bulk bill patients who have a Medicare EPC health plan which has chiropractic referral. Under the Medicare system, allied health providers (including chiropractors) are only able to bill to Medicare if the patient has been referred by their GP under a Medicare EPC health plan (sometimes also called a CDM plan). Such a referral will cover up to five appointments per year. To be eligible for an EPC referral, you need to have a chronic health condition. For more information contact us or see the Medicare website.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs:
Southside Chiropractic & Massage chiropractors are registered with DVA, & we are happy to welcome all Gold Card holders, and appropriate White Card holders with all fees billed to DVA. You will need a referral from your GP.
X-rays:
Southside Chiropractic & Massage does not necessarily require X-rays to commence treatment. Whether X-rays are required is a clinical decision based on the presentation of the individual patient. In practice, the majority of cases don’t require X-rays. If you have previous relevant X-rays, please bring them to your initial appointment. If we do require new X-rays, we refer out to private radiologists, usually Jones Radiology who, in most cases, will bulk bill to Medicare.
